Mary Elizabeth Villano, 90, of Drums, passed away early Saturday morning, September 19, 2020, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes Barre.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, November 27, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Aida (Russo) DeSimone and spent the past 30 years in Drums, after moving from Babylon, Long Island, NY.
Mary was an Executive Administrative Assistant for ItemEyes, New York, NY. She was a member of Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church, Drums. She enjoyed spending her time reading, gardening, cooking, and traveling. Mary especially loved spending time with her family at gatherings and feasts.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by a brother Anthony DeSimone.
Surviving are her loving husband of 69 years Charles I. Villano to whom she was married on May 26, 1951; two children Margaret Pienkowski and her husband Gary, Drums; and Dr. Michael A. Villano and his wife Susanna Kim-Villano, Granger, IN; seven grandchildren Jason Pienkowski and his wife Melissa, Fort Collins, CO; Ryan Pienkowski and his wife Lesley, Freeland; Tina Marie Mushinske and her husband Joram, East Hanover, NJ; Marisa Simon and her husband Erik, South Bend, IN; Michael Y. Villano and his wife Elizabeth Leatherberry, Indianapolis, IN; Anthony Villano and his wife Hind Ourahou, Detroit, MI; and Peter "Rocky" Villano, Granger, IN; five great-grandchildren Ava, Ryder, Liam, Keira, and Jace, several nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at 10 am in Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church, 87 S. Hunter Hwy, Drums, PA. Burial will follow in Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery, Drums. Friends may call at the church from 9 am until the time of the Mass. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums is assisting the family with arrangements. Covid-19 restrictions, including masks, social distancing, and capacity will be enforced at the church and at the cemetery.
