Mark Yurcho, 70, of Zion Grove, passed away Sunday evening, May 17, 2026, at his home following a lengthy battle with kidney disease.
Born in Hazleton, April 7, 1956, he was the son of the late Thomas A. and Ruth (Klingerman) Yurcho, Sr. and spent the past 15 years in Zion Grove, after moving from Nuremberg.
Mark was a 1974 graduate of West Hazleton High School. Since his youth, Mark had been the epitome of a hardworking entrepreneur. His endeavors ranged from his first store, Mark's Miscellaneous in Nuremberg, owning and operating his own School Bus company for Hazleton Area School District, catering, and carpet work, to owning and operating the Midtown Diner, Village Inn, and Tower's Bar and Restaurant. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, a Son of the American Legion Post #699, Nuremberg, and a member of the Shenandoah Heights Hosey. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed listening to live music, mowing grass on the farm, cooking for his friends and family, and spending time with his dog.
Surviving are his devoted wife, the former Genine Zimmerman, with whom he spent 33 years; five daughters, Joann Yurcho Provizzi and her husband Bill, White Haven; Brandy Yurcho, Beaver Township; Tonya Bolinsky and her husband Bo, Oneida; Kellyn Schlauch and her husband Jon, Oneida; and Brandi Morgan and her husband Rob, Palmerton, honorary son Ricky Hons, Weston; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers, Thomas A. "Toot" Yurcho, Jr. and his wife Bonnie, Nuremberg; and Scott Yurcho, Mifflinville; and many nieces and nephews including, Gretchen Yunevage, Kristie Schell, Adam Yurcho, Sarah Yurcho, and Troy Yurcho.
His funeral will be held Friday, May 22, 2026 at 11 AM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Rd, Rock Glen. Burial will follow in Nuremberg Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9AM until the time of the service.
