Marion D. Marchetti, 89, of Zion Grove, passed away Wednesday morning, November 11, 2020 at the Manor at St. Luke Village, Hazleton, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Nuremberg, March 15, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Sr. and Leona (Berger) Daldon and spent her entire life in Zion Grove.
Marion was an active member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ for 70 years. She was a choir member, Sunday School Teacher, and Sunday School Treasurer. She served two terms as President, two terms as Vice-President, Secretary/Treasurer, and Recording Secretary of the church consistory, and was a member of the church's women's guild.
She was a 1949 graduate of Nuremberg High School and received a Master Sewing Certificate/Tailor's License from the Schuylkill County Home Extension.
She owned and operated her own private tailoring and alterations business for many years, and had also worked as a Seamstress for Jebbon Manufacturing, Weston. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Worker's Union. She organized the Nuremberg 4-H Club, where she taught sewing classes for 17 years. Under her leadership, the club won Outstanding Club for three consecutive years.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her first husband Claude Drumheller who passed away in 1987; her second husband Robert Marchetti, 2013; a daughter Claudia Tomkiel, 2011; and three brothers Theodore Jr., Lee and George Daldon.
Surviving are her daughter Juliet Bushinski and her husband Stephen, Ringtown; a son-in-law Joseph Tomkiel, Carlisle; a grandson Rev. Paul Tomkiel; and two granddaughters Stephanie and Catherine Tomkiel.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 11 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen. Burial will follow in Nuremberg Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday morning from 10 am until the time of the service. Covid-19 restrictions of mask wearing and social distancing will be in effect at the funeral home.
