Marie A. Polashenski, 86, of Conyngham, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hazleton, following a brief illness.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, February 9, 1940, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Skatular) Meshko and spent the past 26 years in Conyngham, after moving from Drums where she had resided since 1962.
Marie was a private duty Licensed Practical Nurse for many years. She was a member of St. John Bosco RC Church, Sugarloaf. In her spare time, Marie enjoyed being outside, taking care of her lawn and garden. She also liked working on Sudoku puzzles, knitting, hook latch rug making and going out to restaurants. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her loving husband, Joseph J. Polashenski, Jr., who passed away July 20, 1995; and a son, Joseph J. Polashenski, III, who passed away March 15, 2016.
Surviving are three children, Janet B. Culp and her husband John, Drums; Michael J. Polashenski and his wife Lori Kuehn, East Stroudsburg; and Joan Corradini and her husband Duane, Drums; eight grandchildren, Joseph Polashenski, Wilkes-Barre; Scott Polashenski and his wife Kayla, Schuylkill Haven; Jacob Culp, Drums; Jadyn Culp, Drums; Rachel Polashenski, East Stroudsburg; Michael Polashenski, East Stroudsburg; Ryan Flaherty, West Pittston; and Shane Flaherty, Wilkes-Barre; two great-grandchildren, Lincoln Polashenski and Jude Flaherty; a sister, Joan Martin and her husband James, Hanover Twp; a brother, John Meshko, Wilkes-Barre; and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 10 AM in St. John Bosco RC Church, 573 PA-93, Sugarloaf, PA 18249. Interment will follow in Calvary RC Cemetery, Drums. Friends may call at the church on Thursday morning from 9 AM until the time of the Mass. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Dr, Drums, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
