Maria L. (Mangialetto) Cunningham

Maria L. Cunningham, 70, of West Hazleton, passed away May 15, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest in Allentown, following a brief illness.

Born in Hazleton, April 13, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Mangialetto and Betty (Scott) Banfield and spent the past 22 years in West Hazleton, after moving from Washington State.

Maria was a 1972 graduate of Hazleton High School. In her younger years, she was employed as a cook for George's Restaurant in West Hazleton.  Maria was a loving wife, mother and homemaker for many years and was a member of the Catholic faith.  She enjoyed playing BINGO, and other games of chance.  Maria loved all types of music, watching movies and animals of all kinds.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her loving husband, Robert H. Cunningham; stepfather, Robert Banfield; and a sister, Martha Pauline.

Surviving are two children, Sarah J. Cunningham and her companion Jared Williams, Spartanburg, SC; and stepson Colonel James Cunningham and his wife Kim, Ramstein, Germany; Several grandchildren; two brothers, Phillip Mangialetto, Hurricane, UT; and Daniel Mangialetto, Hazleton; three sisters, Sandra Hixenbaugh-Oster, Richmond, VA; Barbara Hart, Glendale, AZ; and Roberta Nance, Richmond, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held privately at the convenience of her family.  Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
