Margaret M. (Carson) Stroup

Margaret M. Stroup, 101, of Fern Glen, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Sunset Ridge Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Bloomsburg, where she had resided for the past year.

Born in Huntingdon, February 9, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Nellie (Hoffman) Carson and spent the past 53 years in Fern Glen, after moving from Bloomsburg.

Margaret was a retired Inspector for Hanover Foods, Bloomsburg.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Mt. Grove.  She enjoyed home decorating, flower gardening, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband Raymond F. Stroup, who passed away November 10, 1964; two daughters Shelvia Weaver, and Bonnie Fisher; and several brothers and sisters.  

Surviving are five sons Raymond W., Millville; Dale R. and his wife Kathy, Hazleton; Larry F. Fern Glen; Lonnie L., Fern Glen; and Rudy and his wife Doris, Bloomsburg; six daughters Gail Thomas and her husband Dale, Orangeville; Sandra Gale, Freeburg, TN; Peggy Shoemaker, Bloomsburg; Darla Pfahler and her husband Charles, Bloomsburg; Ginger Stroup, Fern Glen; and Jewel Thomas, Bloomsburg; 36 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, June  7, 2022 at 11 am with a graveside service in Elan Memorial Park, 5595 Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg.  Memorial donations can be made to American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
