Margaret Dougherty, 69, of Hazleton, passed away late Saturday evening, June 26, 2021 at her home, surrounded by friends and family.
Born in Hazleton, March 4, 1952, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Mollick) Menghini. She resided in the Hazleton area her entire life.
Margaret had worked as a nurse, having attained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Vine Street, Hazleton. She enjoyed crafts and spending time with her grandchildren and her dog Buddy.
Surviving are two daughters Rachel Cool and her companion John Hanko, Drums; and Kristen Gipson and her husband Donald, Hazleton; brothers and sisters James Menghini, Hazleton; Mark Menghini, Drums; Terese Ostroski, Charles Town, WV; Marita Spock and her husband John, Berwick; and John Menghini and his wife Kathy, Drums; four grandchildren Aubrey Cool; Ashley Hanko, and her companion Robert "Buttermilk" Shearer; Blake Gipson, and his companion Daniel Mahaney; and Maxwell Gipson and his companion Mackenzie Puterbaugh; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 am with a graveside service in Calvary Cemetery, 49 S. Hunter Highway, Drums.
