Lucy H. (Hornick) Popiak

Lucy H. Popiak, of Schnecksville, passed away Tuesday morning, October 26, 2021, at Smith Health Care Center in Mountain Top.

Born in Weston, May 28, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Mary (Pollock) Hornick and spent the past many years in Schnecksville, after moving from Weston in 2001.

Lucy was a member of Sacred Heart RC Church, Weston and Holy Trinity RC Church, Egypt, PA.  She was also a previous member of the Twin County Lionettes.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her loving husband John Popiak, a daughter Theresa Popiak; sisters Mary Hornick, Gloria Everett, Camillus Sandutch, and Catherine Bott, and brothers Vincent and Francis Hornick.

Surviving are six children, John J. Popiak and wife Mariola, Schnecksville; Jean Goodwin and husband Bruce, Smyrna, GA; Lorraine Johns, Severn, MD; Daniel J. Popiak and wife Kimberly, Belvidere, NJ; Tina M. Popiak, Lititz; David J. Popiak, Hazleton; 10 grandchildren, Aaron Popiak, Jared & Jennifer Johns; Nikki and Brent Andruscavage; David J. Popiak Jr., Toni Marie, Cameryn L. and Alexandria Popiak and Paulina Adamkiewicz; two great-grandchildren, Luke and Dean Johns; two sisters Rose Ann Hornick, Boonton, NJ; and Marlene Wesner, McAdoo; and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 9:30 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Sacred Heart RC Church, Weston.  Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening, October 29, 2021, from 6 to 8 pm.
