Louis F. Tait Jr., 91, of Nuremberg, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, February 14,2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Nuremberg, Pennsylvania, on May 17, 1934, he was the son of the late Louis and Annunziata (Lorenzoni) Tait and spent most of his life in Nuremberg.
Louis retired after 30 years of employment with Continental White Cap in Valmont. He also worked for more than 20 years at the Rural Health Corporation Black Creek Health and Dental Center. He was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to always offer a helping hand to friends and family whenever needed.
Louis was a member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Weston, and a social member of American Legion Post #699, Nuremberg. He was also a member of the East Union Senior Citizens. Family was the center of Louis's life. He especially treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing trips to Canada, hunting, and the simple pleasure of being outdoors, often taking daily walks.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Enice Biacco.
Surviving are his two children: Mary Lescowitch and her husband, Edward, of Weston; and Jeffrey Tait and his partner, Bernard Dellario, of Saint Michaels, Maryland; a brother, John Tait and his wife, Anna, of Zion Grove; two grandchildren, Amanda Varrone and her husband, Anthony, of Alexandria, Virginia, and Zachery Lescowitch of Vancouver, British Columbia; one great-granddaughter, Emilia Varrone; and several nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held Sunday evening, February 22, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Weston. Burial will take place privately in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Weston.
