Loretta J. Strong, 89, of Drums, passed away Thursday afternoon, June 25, 2026, at Kadima Rehabilitation and Nursing at Luzerne in Drums.
Born in East Stroudsburg, February 3, 1937, she was the daughter of the late James and Mildred (Keiper) Horne.
Loretta was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of Conyngham United Methodist Church. She was also a member of multiple bridge groups, the Black Creek UM Church Garden Club, and PMVFC Ladies Auxiliary, Mt. Pocono. In her free time, she enjoyed visiting casinos, cross-stitching and sewing, but most of all, she adored spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her devoted husband, Elmer W. Strong, Sr; a son, Elmer Strong, Jr; a brother, James Horne; and a sister, Judy Strong.
Surviving are a son, Kirk Strong and his wife Donna, Drums; a grandson, Retired Major Wesley Strong, Fort Lauderdale, FL; a granddaughter, Trista Swartz, LPN, and her daughter, Brayden, Drums; a brother, Ronald Horne and his wife Donna, Wickenburg, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held privately at the convenience of her family. Harman Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Dr, Drums, assisted the family with the arrangements.
