Lawrence Bezdziecki Obituary

Lawrence J. Bezdziecki, 78, of Nescopeck Township, passed away Sunday morning February 7, 2021 at his home under the care of Commonwealth Hospice of Berwick after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Born in Plymouth, December 31, 1942, he was the son of the late Anthony and Eleanor (Krystopa) Bezdziecki and spent the past 14 years in Nescopeck, after moving from Allentown.

Lawrence served in the US Army from 1966-1968 and attained the rank of Spec 4.  He earned his BS degree from King's College and his MBA from Lehigh University.  He was a Pennsylvania CPA and CMA.  He was a Professor of Accounting at Moravian College, Bethlehem for 25 years.  He had also previously worked as a controller and cost accountant for Air Products and Ingersoll-Rand.  

He was a member of Saint John Bosco RC Church, Sugarloaf.  He was also a member of the Nescopeck Township Fire Company and was Captain of the fire police.  He assisted in coaching for the Berwick Rifle Team.  He was a Ham Radio Operator KB3JMS and enjoyed spending time with his family , especially vacations to Ocean City, NJ.

Surviving are his wife, the former Carol Oberec to whom he was married on June 13, 1964; two daughters Rozann Kern and her husband Roger, Allentown; and Kathleen Green and her husband Scott, Nescopeck; a brother Robert Betz and his wife Barbara, Nantoke; a sister Marge Dallalio and her husband Dave, South Riding, VA; a sister-in-law Rose Kaminski, Allentown; three granddaughters Aly and Kelsey Green, and Elizabeth Kern; and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held with a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 10:30 am from St. John Bosco RC Church, 573 State Route 93, Sugarloaf.  Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Parkinson's Foundations at www.parkinson.org or Commonwealth Hospice of Berwick, 1409 N Market Street, Suite 202, Berwick, PA 18603.
