Obituary

Lavina Stella Heller, 95, of Sugarloaf Township passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Smith Health Care Center, Mountain Top, following a brief illness.  The family would like to thank the staff at Smith's for all of their exception care.

Born in Sugarloaf, PA, June 18, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Stella (Knelly) Ackerman and spent most of her life in Sugarloaf, except for a eight year period in the 1950's when she lived in New Jersey.  

Lavina was a Homemaker for most of her life and had also worked as a Bell Telephone Operator, Sunny Knoll Hotel and Restaurant, Valley Cleaners, and Balliet's Farm.  She was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Conyngham and the church's Willing Workers; Berwick Eagles, and Conyngham Valley Vets Auxiliary  

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband Loise E. Heller, who passed away May 15, 1985; a daughter-in-law Mary Ellen Heller; brothers Walter, Christopher "Fritz", Leonard "Skip", Conrad, and Clarence; and sisters Marie Smith, Betty Barron, and Tillie Klinesmith.

Surviving are her three children Henry Heller and his wife Jane, Sugarloaf; Paulette Heller, Hazleton; and Leonard Heller, Sugarloaf; two grandsons Gregg Heller and his wife Gabrielle; and Ron and his wife Tammy; five great-grandchildren Morgan, Jackson, Travis, Sam, and Nolan.

A Memorial Service will be held at a date, time, and location to be announced when all COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted.  Memorial donations may be made to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, PO Box 494, Conyngham, PA 18219 or Gift of Life Family House, 401 Callow Hill Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123.
