Lanny C. Foose, 84, of Hazle Township, passed away Tuesday morning, October 10, 2023, at Mountain City Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Hazle Township, following a short illness.
Born in Hazleton, September 6, 1939, he was the son of the late Abner and Marie (Patt) Foose and spent the past 45 years in Hazle Township, after moving from Nuremberg.
Lanny was a Hazleton City cab and bus driver for numerous years. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict having served from 1962 - 1968. He was a member of Community Bible Fellowship, Hazleton. He was also a member of Shenandoah Fish and Game Club. Lanny enjoyed hunting deer with both bow and rifle, salmon fishing, driving all kinds of vehicles including motorcycles and gardening with his daughter. He received accommodation from Butler Twp. Police Department for helping to save a women's life.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his two sisters Beverley Michaels, and Marilyn Hartz.
Surviving are his loving wife, Annette Ruggiero Foose to whom he was married on February 9, 2002; six children, Rebecca Foose, Hazle Twp.; Charles "Chuckie" Foose, Mountain Top; Robert Foose, Nanticoke; Lonnie Saullo and her husband Carl, West Hazleton; Qunicey Foose, Berwick; and Amy Williams and her husband George Herbert, Freeland; three stepsons, Trevor, Anthony and Jared Page, Drums; eleven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren; eight siblings, Annette Olson and husband Marvin, Minneapolis, MN; Dawn Colosimo and husband Al, Catawissa; Sharon Homan, Nuremberg; Dorothy Irvin, Nuremberg; Jean Braskey and her husband Edward, Berwick; Kevin Foose, Sheppton; June Minnig, Bloomsburg; and Debra Flurrie, Zion Grove; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held with a Memorial Service on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 11 AM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums. Interment will follow in Nuremberg Cemetery, Zion Grove. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10 AM until the time of the service.
