Kimberly Chipeleski Platek Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kimberly Ann Chipeleski Platek.  A truly remarkable woman, sister, friend and everyone's Aunt Kimmie.  Kim's life was defined by selfless love, generosity and unwavering commitment to her family, friends, community and the Republican political party.  Kimmie left this world too early, leaving behind an enduring legacy of compassion and love.

Born in Wilkes Barre on January 31, 1967, she was the daughter of the late Thomas S. and Faith (Hawley) Chipeleski, Sr.

Kim was a graduate of West Hazleton High School, Penn State University, University Park, where she earned a degree in Education.  On Saturdays in the fall you could find Kim cheering on Penn State and on Sundays cheering on her Pittsburgh Steelers, watching these games will not be the same without her.

As a pillar of the community, Kim held countless leadership roles in committees and organizations that made a lasting impact. Kim always supported and donated for local benefits, helping those in need.  Kim was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion, Nuremberg, the Owl's Club, a Republican Committee chairwoman for Sugarloaf Township, Luzerne County, secretary for the Republican party of Luzerne County, was on the Valley Chiefs Board of Directors, was a crime watch volunteer, a CVCO board member, a CVCO Committee Member for the Memorial Day Parade, Christmas in Conyngham Parade and Valley Day (Kim never missed a parade), and a supporter of Sugarloaf, Conyngham and Christiana FOP lodges.

Whether chairing initiatives or contributing as a team member, her passion for creating positive change inspired everyone around her.  She was a source of strength, guidance, and hope to countless individuals who turned to her in a time of need.  Even in death, Kim has given all of herself to countless others who will benefit from her through The Gift of Life.

Professionally, Kim was a powerhouse.  Most recently Kim worked for Paratek Pharmaceuticals.  Kim consistently exceeded performance goals with her dedication and unmatched work ethic.  She brought her characteristic excellence to every task, earning her admiration, numerous awards, including the respect from her colleagues and peers.

Above all, Kim was an extraordinary sister whose love and support were limitless. She was a confidante, cheerleader, and unwavering friend to her family, always ensuring that her loved ones felt valued and cherished.  Her boundless love will forever be etched in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. Though Kim's physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit and love is with us all.

Surviving are two brothers Thomas S. Chipeleski, Jr., Exeter; and Daryl Chipeleski and his wife Tara, Sugarloaf; a sister, Tricia Marnell, Sugarloaf; her companion, Eric Fuehrer, Nescopeck; seven nieces and nephews, Marianne Chipeleski, Jake Thomas Marnell, Mia Sophia Marnell and her companion Mitchell Masten, Colton Chipeleski, Gage Chipeleski, Crue Chipeleski, and Blaze Chipeleski; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and her faithful dog Winston.

Her funeral will be held with a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 10 AM in Saint John Bosco RC Church, 573 PA-93, Sugarloaf, PA 18249.  Friends may call at the Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc.
