Katherine Elizabeth Ulrich, 77, of Freeland, passed away early Monday morning, September 16, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest in Allentown following a seven month illness.
Born in Hazleton, June 27, 1947, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Evelyn Mae (Houseknecht) Stradnick and spent the past 25 years in Freeland, after moving from Hazleton.
Katherine was a CNA for many local care homes and was also a bartender for the Polaski Club, Hazle Township; for 16 years. She was a member of the Pulaski Club, and was proud to donate to organizations that protect animals, such as PETA, and the ASPCA, and she was very passionate about animals not being used in experiments. Katherine especially loved cats and helped many strays in the neighborhood. She was an experienced seamstress who could make curtains, clothing, repairs, and could work on a sewing machine. Katherine was an extrovert who loved to laugh, meet people, have fun, and go on adventures. She had many friends and was very well liked, she will be missed.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband Kenneth Ulrich and a sister, Nancy Drumtra.
Surviving are two sisters, Janet Stradnick, El Cajon, CA; and Lucille Wenner and her husband Richard, Drums; brother-in-law, Robert Drumtra and his companion Irene, Haines City, FL; two nieces; her Godchild, Janine (Drumtra) Schumaker and her husband Michael, Haines City, FL; and Nanette (Drumtra) O'Toole and her husband Sean, Lakeland, FL; a nephew, Richard Wenner and his wife Pauley, Tempe, AZ; and numerous cousins also survive.
Her funeral will be held with a Memorial Service on Monday, September 30, 2024 at 12 PM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 West Butler Drive, Drums. Burial will follow in Saint John's Lutheran and UCC Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday morning, from 11 AM until the time of the service.
