Julia Ann "Mike" Plafcan, 84, of Beaver Valley Road, Bloomsburg, passed away Tuesday evening, September 16, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, following a brief illness.
Born in Hazleton, July 12, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Adeline (Felber) Marinock, Sr. and spent the past 55 years in Bloomsburg, after moving from Weston.
Julia was a graduate of Black Creek Twp. High School, class of 1959. She was employed as line operator for Chromatex, Valmont and several other local factories. Julia was a member of Sacred Heart RC Church, Weston. When she was younger, she loved going to the beach in New Jersey. Lately she enjoyed trips to the different casinos in PA and NJ, playing BINGO, and spending quality time with her family.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her loving husband, Edward A. "Cookie" Plafcan who passed away October 1, 2017.
Surviving are her daughter, Suzanne Adamchick and her husband Joseph, Bloomsburg; three grandchildren, Courtney Adamchick, Zachary Adamchick and his fiancée Jamie Harpel, and Taylor Adamchick and her fiancée Stanley Bohenek; two sisters, Loretta Urban, Bloomsburg; and Elizabeth Marinock, Mt. Top; a brother, Michael Marinock and his wife Cindy, Hazle Twp; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held with a graveside service on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 2PM in Sacred Heart RC Cemetery, Weston. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Rd, Rock Glen is assisting the family with the arrangements.
