Judith S. (Sider) O'Donnell

Judith S. O'Donnell, 71, of Drums, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
 
Born in Hazleton, September 25, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Julia (Mehalick) Sider and spent the past 46 years in Drums, after moving from Oneida.
 
Judith was a Professor of English Composition, Technical Writing, and Women's Studies at Penn State Hazleton for over 30 years, prior to her retirement in 2013.  She also served the campus as the Advising Center Coordinator, and led the FTCAP orientation program for first year students each summer.  She was a member of St. John Bosco RC Church, Sugarloaf, and enjoyed reading and traveling. 
 
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Francis, to whom she was married on November 29, 1969; four children Terrence O'Donnell and his wife Nicole Mayo, Boston, MA; Michael O'Donnell and his wife Connie, Sugarloaf; Brigid O'Donnell and her husband Clinton Parrish, Groton, NH; and Katie O'Donnell and her fiance Ian Cravatt, Brunswick, ME; six grandchildren Matthew, Alex, and Macey O'Donnell, Tim, Chris, and Greg Mayo; a sister Michele Jais and her husband Barry, Drums; and a nephew Chris Jais, his wife Megan and their children Jackson, Logan, and Will.
 
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 10 am in St. John Bosco RC Church, 573 State Route 93, Sugarloaf. Due to Covid, there will be no public viewing or interment.
