Joseph Gregory Maylath, 60, of Black Creek Township, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, June 14, 2021 at his home.
Born in Hazleton, January 4, 1961, he was the son of Nancy (Podlesny) Maylath, Black Creek Township, and the late Matthew G. Maylath. He spent the past four years in Black Creek Township after moving from Conyngham.
Joseph was a CNC machine operator/skylight technician for Accurlite Structural Skylights, Berwick, and had previously worked for Barret & Haentjens and Summit Manufacturing, Hazleton. He served as a football coach at West Hazleton High School early 90's. He was a member of St. John Bosco RC Church, Sugarloaf. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, and watching golf and football, especially the NY Giants.
Surviving in addition to his mother are two daughter Samantha Maylath, and Amanda Maylath, both of Hazleton; a brother Matthew John Maylath, Black Creek Township; his former wife Linda Odorizzi; Hazleton; a nephew Kyle Maylath; and a niece Lauren Conston.
His funeral will be held Saturday with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 am in St. John Bosco RC Church, 573 State Route 93, Sugarloaf. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Slovak Catholic Cemetery, Hazleton. Friends may call at Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, Friday evening from 6-8pm.
