Joseph F. Harvey Sr., 70, of Nuremberg, passed away Saturday evening at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA, following a brief illness.
Born in Hazleton, PA, April 2, 1956, he was the son of the late Frank and Shirley (Schlauch) Harvey and spent most of his life in Nuremberg.
Joe was a Maintenance Mechanic for AMCOR and Fabri Cal both of West Hazleton. In his early years he was a mason. Since retiring, he worked part time at Johnson's Pit Stop, Nuremberg and loved entertaining audiences as a DeeJay. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Nuremberg. He was a social member of Nuremberg and Sheppton American Legions, was a proud member of the Corvette Club, Hazleton, he loved building and working on cars, NHRA Drag Racing, and enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors with family and friends camping, boating, and fishing.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his brother Paul Harvey, and two nephews.
Surviving are his wife of (47) years Kathleen (Mizenko) Harvey, a daughter Jennifer Cruickshank and her husband Paul, Somers Point, NJ; a son Joseph Harvey Jr. and his wife Michele, Nuremberg; sisters Bonnie Vinciguerra and husband James, Kissimmee, FL, Darlene Douglas, and husband James, Weatherly; a brother Mark Harvey, and wife Edna, Drums. 3 Grandchildren Kaitlin, Matthew and Aubree, and his dog Snickers, also several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Saturday May 2, 2026 at 11AM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West) 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen. Burial will follow in Nuremberg Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9-11AM.
