Jonathan F. Houser

Jonathan F. Houser, 76, of Drums, PA, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA following a short illness.

Born in Hazleton, PA, July 16, 1945, he was the son of the late Llewellyn and Mary (MIller) Houser and spent the past 16 years in Drums, after moving from Grantsville.

Jonathan was a retired Physical Education Teacher for the Salisbury-Elk Lick School District, Salisbury, PA.  He was an outstanding coach at both Salisbury and Northern Garrett High school where he coached football and baseball. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, hunting, and fishing. 

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his wife, the former Lois Stauffer, who passed away April 21, 2016; a son Matthew Houser, October 11 2005; a brother Lee Houser; and a sister Marilyn Houser.

Surviving are a son Jonathan Houser and his wife Audra, Grantsville, MD; 4 step-children Ronna Kramer and her husband Chuck, Thorndale, PA; Ryan Stauffer and his wife Carla, Hazleton, PA; Robyn Harlow and her husband Jeff, Wernersville, PA; and Rhett Stauffer, Conshohocken, PA; two grandchildren Colton and McKenna Houser; 12 step-grandchildren, Breydon, Tanner, Schae, Chris, Alia, Colin, Morgan, Madison, Gannon, Lynkyn, Peyton, and Sawyer; a sister Laureen Fellin, Watchung, NJ; and several nieces and nephews.

All services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.  Memorial donations may be made to Cindy’s fund.
