John "Jack" R. Stish, 75, of Hazleton, passed away Saturday afternoon, July 24, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital with his family by his side.
Born in Hazleton, February 18, 1946, he was the son of the late Frank and Giovanna "Jennie" (Rubino) Stish and spent the past 20 years in Hazleton, after moving from Drums.
Jack was an Assembler for All Steel, West Hazleton. He was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam Conflict having served from 1968 - 1971 where he attained the rank of Sergeant. Jack was a member of the Catholic faith and a member of VFW Post #8253, West Hazleton. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching baseball, basketball, and football. He was known by his family and friends as a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He collected commemorative coins and Marine Corps memorabilia in his spare time.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his brothers Frank Jr., Donald, and Robert Stish.
Surviving are two children, a daughter, Crystal Wummer and her husband Jesse, Stroudsburg; and a son, John Stish, Evanston, IL; three grandchildren, Olivia, Andrew, and Alexander Wummer; a brother Richard Stish and his wife Mary Ellen, Hazleton; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held with a graveside service on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 11 am in Calvary Cemetery, 49 S. Hunter Hwy., Drums. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums is assisting the family with the arrangements.
