John Alouisa

John Alouisa, 68, of Drums, passed away Wednesday evening, February 15, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hazleton following a sudden illness. 

 Born in Brooklyn, NY, March 19, 1954, and raised in Staten Island, NY, he was the son of the late Sam and Rose (Marzo) Alouisa and spent the past two and a half years in Drums, after moving from Yorktown Heights, NY. 

 John graduated with a BA in Business Administration from Baruch College in Manhattan where he was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa. John was a Project Manager in IT for Prudential Insurance, Manhattan for 30 years.  After that he did consulting work for many firms, and was recently semi-retired, working from home.  He was a member of Good Shepherd RC Church, Drums.  John loved bass fishing at Black Lake, collecting Lionel trains, and had recently started coin collecting. 

Surviving are his wife, the former Ann Chmil, to whom he was married on September 27, 1975, in Richmond, NY; three children, John Alouisa, Jr. and wife Karina, Australia; Kristen Alouisa and wife Haley Brasil, Mount Kisco, NY; Amy Garcia and husband Rafael, Yorktown Heights, NY; seven grandchildren Cecilia, Graziella, Annabella, and Giovanni Garcia, and Dominic, Harry, and Leo Alouisa; brother Robert Alouisa and wife Susan, Rochester, NY; brother-in-law Stephen Chmil and wife Barbara, Drums; and several nieces and nephews.

 His funeral will be held Monday, February 20, 2023, at 10 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in Good Shepherd RC Church, 87 S. Hunter Hwy., Drums.  Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family.  Friends are invited to call on Sunday evening, February 19, 2023, from 6 to 8 PM at Harman Funeral Homes and Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums.
