Jerome "Jerry" P. Dymek, 69, of Hazle Twp., passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, March 17, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest in Allentown, following a sudden illness.

Born in Elk, Poland, January 1, 1954, he was the son of the late Matthew and Danuta (Zgutczynska) Dymek and had spent most of his life in Hazle Twp.

Jerry was a graduate of Kings College, Wilkes-Barre.  He was a Security System Salesman for Solid State Securities and ADT Security and was owner and operator of Cornerstone Construction, Hazle Twp.  Jerry was a member of the Valley Country Club, Sugarloaf.  He enjoyed playing golf and watching basketball games, but his main passion was his family, who he loved to cook for.  Jerry coached and mentored his children in all sports and in all aspects of life.  With his wife Mare by his side, he traveled and explored many new adventures.  In his later years, his grandchildren, who lovingly referred to him as Pops, were the true joy of his life.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a brother Michael Dymek, and a sister Danuta "Denise" Dymek Kohl.

Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years, the former Marybeth Stefanovich, to whom he was married on June 4, 1976 in Hazleton; two children, Melissa Jackson and husband Drew, Bay Village, OH; and Christopher Dymek and wife Jillian, Brielle, NJ; four grandchildren, Luke, Benjamin, Greyson and Georgia; a brother Wesley Dymek and wife Rosemary, CA; a sister Alice DiSabella and husband Peter, Drums; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, March 23, 2023, at 10 AM in Most Precious Blood Roman Catholic Church, 131 E. 4th St, Hazleton, PA 18201.  Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
