Jennifer M. Whitner, 41, of Fern Glen, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, December 13, 2024, at her residence.
Born in Williamsburg, VA, November 4, 1983, she was the daughter of Rose M. (Gernhardt) Whitner, Fern Glen and the late Dale F. Whitner. She spent most of her life in Fern Glen and Nuremberg.
Jennifer graduated from Hazleton Area High School, class of 2002. She attended classes at Luzerne County Community College. Jenn was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Nuremberg. She enjoyed spending her time picking crystals, collecting coins, shopping, riding ATVs, and was always busy doing something. Jenn was an amazing baker and cook. Her greatest joy was raising her daughter Kayla and spending time with her family. Jennifer's heart was larger than life and she was dedicated to ensuring her family knew how much she loved them.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her daughter, Kayla Verbonitz, at home; a brother, James Whitner and his wife Crystal, Zion Grove; a sister, Holly Herring, Weston; Godmother, Anna Mary Basile, her husband Michael and their son Bradley, Fern Glen; a nephew, Zane Herring; two nieces, Vera Herring and Lauren Johnson; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her little dog, Cora.
Her funeral will be held with a Memorial Service on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 12 PM in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 260 Mahanoy Street, Nuremberg. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of her family. Friends may call at the church on Friday morning from 10 AM until the time of the service.
