Jeanette K. Daniels, 89, of Drums, passed away early Friday morning, November 7, 2025, at the Pavilion at St. Luke Village in Hazleton, following a prolonged illness.
Born in Wilmington, DE, March 29, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Millard and Maude (Renninger) Johnson and spent the past 57 years in Drums.
Jeanette was employed as a cable company secretary for five years before becoming a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She was a member of St. John Bosco RC Church, Sugarloaf; and of the Cranberry Quilters Quilting Club and served on the board at Eckley Miners' Village. Jeanette's favorite pastime was sewing. She was an accomplished seamstress, having completed over 20 quilts and would help others with their embroidery projects.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her grandson, Robert Poltrok, Jr, two brothers, Lindsey and Millard Johnson, Jr, and a sister, Shirley Cordrey.
Surviving are her loving husband, John Daniels, Jr; five children, Lynn Poltrok and husband Robert, Drums; Dale Hardy, Kralltown; Kenneth Hardy and wife Karen, Mechanicsville; Sandra Alshefski and husband Joseph, Hazle Twp; and Michael Hardy, Drums; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, a sister, Jacquelyn Davis and husband Paul, Seaford, DE; and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held with a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 10 AM in St. John Bosco RC Church, 573 State Route 93, Sugarloaf. Interment will follow in Calvary RC Cemetery, Drums. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday morning from 9 AM to 10 AM.
