Jean L. Shelhamer, 61, of Drums, passed away early Sunday morning, December 15, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest in Allentown, after a two week illness.
Born in Hazleton, July 27, 1963, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Shirley R. (Jones) Shelhamer, Sr. and spent most of her life in Drums.
Jean was a Supply Clerk for Hazleton General Hospital. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Drums. She was also a life member of Butler Twp. Fire Co., and a social member of the Valley VFW. Jean liked to cook and work in her garden. She was always taking care of others before herself, and adored caring for her many pets and strays.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her companion, Evan Pierce Souders; a brother, Robert J. Shelhamer, Jr. and a brother-in-law, Robert "Brez" Bereznak, and a niece, Sara Shelhamer.
Surviving are two siblings, Diane Shelhamer Bereznak; and Theron R. Shelhamer, both of Drums; two nieces, Jaymie Massaro and her husband Nick, CT; and Kristen Shelhamer, KS; and four great-nephews, James, Quentin, Jack and Andrew.
All services will be held privately at the convenience of her family. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, is assisting with the arrangements.
