Janette M. Eckrote, 87, of Drums, passed away Tuesday morning, May 30, 2023, at Kadima Rehabilitation and Nursing at Luzerne in Drums, where she had resided for the past three years.
Born in Hazleton, October 12, 1935, she was the daughter of the late William and Esther (Kline) Hutton and had spent the past 43 years in Drums, after moving from Hazleton.
Janette was a seamstress for Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Hazleton, where she made special surgical items. She was a member of Christ Church UCC, Conyngham, the Drum’s Garden Club, and the Red Hat Society.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband Russell D. Eckrote, and a brother William Hutton.
Surviving are two step-children, Dennis Eckrote and wife Kathleen, Drums; and Gloria Davis and husband Daniel, Zion Grove; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a sister, Loretta Frederick, formerly of Sugarloaf; and a brother John Hutton, Weston.
Her funeral will be held with a graveside service on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 10 AM in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Mt. Grove. Harman Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 West Butler Drive, Drums, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
