Janet Marie (Ansbach) Kahley

Janet Marie Kahley, 90, of Rock Glen, passed away Thursday afternoon, December 29, 2022 at Fritzingertown Senior Living Community in Drums, following a lengthy illness. 

Born in Rock Glen, August 20, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Daniel J. and Lillian (Slusser) Ansbach and spent most of her life in Rock Glen. 

Janet was a graduate of Black Creek Twp. High School Class of 1950 and served on the Alumni Association.  She was employed by Wise Potato Chips, a division of Borden Inc., Berwick for over 40 years having retired from the Accounting Department. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Nuremberg where she served on the church council and altar guild. Janet was an avid crafter and seamstress and enjoyed playing the piano.
 
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her loving husband, Daniel B. Kahley, granddaughter, Kaitlin Whitenight, and three brothers, Daniel Jr., Nevin and Robert Ansbach. 

Surviving are her two daughters, Darlene Farcus, Rock Glen; and Stacey Whitenight and husband Brian, Williamsport, MD; three grandchildren, Larry Ervin, Jr., Rock Glen; and Joseph and Robert "R.J." Whitenight, both of Williamsport, MD; a sister, Marilyn F. Brown, and a sister-in-law Joyce Ansbach, both of Berwick; and several nieces and nephews. 

Her funeral will be held with a Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 10:30 AM in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 260 Mahanoy St., Nuremberg. Friends are invited to call at the church on Saturday morning from 10 AM until the time of the service. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen is assisting the family with the arrangements.
