James Joseph Bugda, 79, of Rock Glen, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 17, 2025, at his residence following a brief illness.
Born in Cranberry, September 21, 1945, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Samborofsky) Bugda and spent the past 25 years in Rock Glen, after moving from Sugarloaf.
James was a Supervisor for Bemis in Valmont for over 38 years. He was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, having served from 1963 - 1966. He was a member of the American Legion Post 699, Nuremberg, and the Penn Rod and Gun Club. In his spare time, James enjoyed hunting and fishing, was an avid sports fan and an accomplished dart player. But his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by three siblings, John, Stanley and Dorothy Bugda.
Surviving are two sons, Christian "Boomer" Bugda and his wife Heather, Rock Glen; and James Bugda, Jacksonville, FL; two grandchildren, Christa Lynn Bugda, FL; and James Christian Bugda, Rock Glen; a sister, Marie Valiant, Hazleton; and several nieces and nephews.
As per James wishes, all services will be held privately at the convenience of his family. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
