Irene Marie (Molignoni) Skoff, 98, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away at home with her family Thursday morning, April 15, 2021.
Born in Weston, PA on May 4, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Teresa (Brugger) Molignoni. She lived in New York City, Washington D.C., Sterling and Ashburn, VA. She spent the past 3 ½ years with her daughter and family in Lexington, MA.
Irene is survived by three children, Barry Skoff and his wife Martha Monahan, Lynnfield, MA; Dennis Skoff, Ashburn, VA, and Karen Skoff and her husband Charles Magid, Lexington, MA; three granddaughters, Emily Skoff and Jamie and Lyssa Magid; a sister Leanor Weinberg, Silver Spring, MD; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her loving husband Frank A. Skoff who passed away October 22, 1996; sisters Josephine Moore and Louise Singletary, brothers Frank Molignoni, Reno Molignoni, and Veron Raos.
Irene was a member of Christ the Redeemer Church in Sterling, VA where she was a long time money counter for the parish. She also belonged to the Sterling Senior Center in VA, where she used to volunteer her time, went on senior trips and cherished the friends she made there. Throughout her life, Irene enjoyed painting, beading, embroidery, Star Trek, baking and cooking for everyone and playing games. She was an avid BananaGrams player. She came from a family of bakers and was famous for the many tins of Christmas cookies that she made each year. Irene was a role model for so many and a mom to everyone. She loved being surrounded by family and friends and opened her heart and home to all.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 23, 2021 at 11am in Sacred Heart RC Church, 554 Main St, Weston. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Face masks are required for all in attendance. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen is assisting the family with arrangements.
