Helen Mehalick, 96, of Oneida, passed away Thursday morning, January 9, 2025, at Saunders House in Wynnewood, following a brief illness.
Born in Oneida, January 16, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Triechak) Soda and spent her whole life in Oneida.
Helen worked as a seamstress, volunteered as a poll worker for many years, and enjoyed quilting, cooking, and baking. She was a member of Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Sheppton, and had previously been a member of the Oneida Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her loving husband George A. Mehalick; two daughters, Donna Marie Gulash and infant, Joan Ann Mehalick; and two brothers, George Revak and John Soda.
Surviving are a son, David Mehalick, Oneida; a granddaughter, Jessica Gulash and her wife, Julie Dees, Bala Cynwyd; and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held with a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 11 AM in Saint Joseph's RC Church, 14 E Oak St. Sheppton, PA 18248. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday morning from 10 AM until the time of the Mass. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Dr., Drums, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
