Helen S. (Sachse) Benjamin

Helen S. Benjamin, 90, of Conyngham, entered into eternal life late Wednesday evening, December 20, 2023, at Fritzingertown Senior Living Community in Drums, following a battle with Alzheimer's.

Born in Hazleton, May 7, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Alma (Lambert) Sachse and had spent most of her life in Conyngham.

Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and homemaker. She was a member of Christ UCC Church, Conyngham and also a member of the Mayflower Chapter #107 Order of The Eastern Star. Helen enjoyed spending her time knitting, crocheting, sewing, and quilting, always having a project in her lap made with love for family and friends. She passed much of her time playing the piano, spoiling her cats, and collecting dolls. Helen always looked forward to her daily rides with her husband, taking in the views from the passenger seat while she sipped her coffee, humming her favorite melodies.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her granddaughter, Stephanie Arnold, who passed away February 8, 2009, and a sister Martha Schreiner.

Surviving are her loving husband, whom she first met in second grade, James A. Benjamin, to whom she celebrated 70 years of marriage on August 15th; two children, Beth Ann Arnold, Wynnewood; and Robert J. Benjamin and his wife Gloria, Hazle Twp.; three grandchildren, Kristen and David Arnold, both of Wynnewood; and Jessica Benjamin, Hazle Twp.; great-grandson, Christopher Arnold, Wynnewood; a sister-in-law, Gloria Thomas, Toccoa Falls, GA; and several nieces.

All services for Helen will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums is assisting the family with the arrangements.
