George Rodriguez Obituary

George Ralph Rodriguez, 80, of Hazle Township passed away January 13, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest in Allentown, following a brief illness.

Born in Havana, Cuba on October 3, 1940, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Gloria Rodriguez and spent the past 65 years in Hazle Township, after relocating from New York City.

George was a Supervisor for PPL, Hazleton, a US Navy veteran, and a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hazleton. He was also a long-term member of the Odd Fellows, the Masons, the Hazleton Shrine, the Irem Shrine, and the Bloomsburg Consistory. George was an avid hunter, skillful mechanic, and enjoyed working on and fixing cars. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who devoted his time to his loving family. He was always there for them through the various ups and downs of life and taught them to enjoy every moment life has to offer. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by two brothers: Walter and Anthony Rodriguez.

Surviving are his loving wife, the former Janice Haslego; to whom he was married to for 56 years; one daughter Robin Rodriguez, Drums; one granddaughter Nena Rodriguez-Gilroy, Drums; two sisters Gloria Alice Rodriguez, Tampa, FL; and Laura Rodriguez, Los Angeles, CA; and many nieces and nephews. He was a kind and loving husband to his wife Janice, as well as an amazing father to their daughter Robin and a wonderful grandfather to their granddaughter Nena.

All services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date. Harman Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc.
