Frank T. Buchman, 80, of Nuremberg, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 13, 2020 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hazleton, following a short illness.
Born in Hazleton, October 23, 1939, he was the son of the late Wilhelm and Congetta (Yaccino) Buchman and spent the past 50 years in Nuremberg, after moving from Weston.
Frank was a retired Butcher for A&P Markets. He was a retired US Army Reservist attaining the rank 1st SGT., having served with 32 years with the Combat Engineers. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a son, Frank Buchman, Jr., who passed away March 18, 2019; a brother Clyde Buchman; and three sisters Grace, Betty, and Dolores.
Surviving are his wife, of the past 56 years the former Elenor Schiefer; a daughter Sylvia Hovanec and her husband Frank, Nuremberg; two sons Michael and his wife Bambi, Drums; and Nicholas and his wife Heather, Inman, SC; a daughter-in-law Jacquie Buchman, Zion Grove; five grandchildren; four brothers John Buchman, and his wife Rose, Hazle Township; Leonard Buchman and his wife Mary Lou, Hazle Township; Helms Buchman and his wife Marie, Drums; and Thomas Buchman and his wife Jane, Wisconsin; one sister Shirley Preston, Hazleton; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Friday, October 16, 2020 at 11 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart RC Cemetery, Weston. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday morning from 10 am until the time of the service.
