Evan Pierce Souders, 65, of Drums, passed away at his companion's residence, early Wednesday morning, July 3, 2024, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Hazleton, July 26, 1958, he was the son of the late Albert Pierce and Beverly Elaine (Paulson) Souders and spent most of his life in Drums.
Evan was a 1976 graduate of Hazleton High School. He was employed as a small engine mechanic for Slusser Bros. and Pennsy Supply for many years. Evan was a member of St. John's UCC Church, Drums. He was a lifetime social member of the Valley Regional Fire Company, a social member of the Conyngham VFW Post #8161, Freeland VFW Post #5010, and The Owls Rod and Gun Club, Hazleton. Evan enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles in his spare time.
Surviving are his companion of 24 years, Jean Shelhamer, two sisters, Beverly Janso and her husband Steve; and Joann Puskar and her husband Joseph; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Services for Evan will be held privately at the convenience of his family. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
