Ethel M. Welliver, 89, formerly of Conyngham and Millville, and currently a resident of Fritzingertown Senior Living Community, Drums, passed away Friday afternoon at the facility.
Born in Sugarloaf Township, April 29, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and V. Geraldine (Remley) Roth. She grew up in Conyngham and Sugarloaf and was a 1950 graduate of West Hazleton High School. She worked as a Nanny for several Conyngham families and was a caregiver to her parents.
Ethel was a retired Supervisor for PNC Bank, Conyngham, retiring after 27 years of service. Following her retirement, she moved to Millville, where she met her "second family", the mall walkers at the Columbia Mall and the coffee group at Burger King. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Conyngham. She loved to crochet and made over 100 dozen hats for newborn babies at the Bloomsburg Hospital.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband Robert who passed away November 6, 2002; a sister Jean Roth Schucholz; a brother Carl A. Roth; and a stillborn baby sister.
Surviving are a niece Debbie Schucholz; and nephew Kurt Schucholz, and his wife Cheryl, all of Conyngham; two great nephews Karl Schucholz and his wife Melissa; and Kevin Schucholz and his wife Josie; and a great-great-nephew Kyle Schucholz.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 10:30 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery, 349 E. Main Street, Millville. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday, from 9:30 am until the time of the service.
