Just a little under two days after coming into the world, Ellie Hope Maylath passed away Wednesday evening, April 19, 2023, in her Mommy and Daddy's arms surrounded by her loving grandparents at Geisinger Medical Center-Danville.
Ellie was born at 37 weeks and five days at 8:17 PM on April 17, 2023. She weighed 7lbs 14.8 oz and measured 19.5 inches long. She looked just like her big sister Mia. Ellie had dark brown hair and the cutest button nose we have ever seen. She was beautiful and perfect in every single way. She was delicate and sweet like a little flower.
For Ellie's short time on earth, she accomplished so many things. Ellie got to meet and snuggle with her aunt and uncles. She FaceTimed with her big sister Mia, was baptized in the Catholic Faith and stole the hearts of every doctor and nurse she encountered. She was smothered in kisses and hugs from her Mommy and Daddy.
Ellie was met at Heaven's gates by her maternal grandfather, Christopher Meckes; maternal great-grandparents Clifford and Wanda Meckes; paternal great-grandparents, Michael and Kathleen Maylath; and Hugh and Dorothy Shamany.
Surviving are her loving Mommy and Daddy, Kristen Ann and Ryan Hugh Maylath, Bloomsburg; big sister, Mia Ann Maylath, at home; maternal grandmother, Cassandra Meckes, Sugarloaf; paternal grandparents, Michael and DeDe Maylath, Sugarloaf; maternal great-grandparents Robert and Molly Ferraira, Bethlehem; three uncles, Michael Maylath, III. and wife Shannon, Sugarloaf; Jarred Maylath, Sugarloaf; and Cody Meckes, Harrisburg; two cousins Madelyn & Hayley Maylath; and many great-uncles and aunts.
Her funeral will be held Monday, April 24, 2023, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, 573 State Route 93. Sugarloaf. Burial will take place privately at Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday morning from 9 AM until the time of the Mass. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 West Butler Drive, Drums, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
