Elizabeth Julia (Rule) Jones

Elizabeth Julia Jones, 85, of Weatherly, passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning, September 4, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hazleton.

 Born in Nanticoke, May 24, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Richard J. and Elma E. Rule and spent the past two and a half years in Weatherly, after moving from Freeland. 

 Elizabeth was a Bank Manager for Dauphin Deposit Bank, Harrisburg. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Drums. Elizabeth enjoyed playing BINGO and numerous other games on her phone.  She liked coloring pictures, camping with her family and was always very lucky when she played scratch off lottery. 

 She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her loving husband Elvan "Al" Jones, who passed away March 3, 2021, and brothers Jimmy and Dick Rule.  

 Surviving are three children, Elvan "Butch" Jones and his wife Jeanette, Plains; Barbara Jacoby and her husband Randy, Sugarloaf; and Barry Jones, Drums; nine grandchildren, Elvan Robert Jones and his wife Rachel, Conyngham; Jeremiah Jones and his companion Kim Good, Hazleton; Candy Lee Hearne and her husband James, Drums; Melissa Gregor and her husband Robert, Dallas; Michelle McDougal and her husband William, Plains; Marrisa Jacoby, Sugarloaf; Jonathan Jacoby, Sugarloaf; Justin Jones and his wife Denna, Sugarloaf; Kristin Jones, West Chester; 12 great-grandchildren, Tyra, Mason, Gavin, Lucas, Ronan, Mia, Bobby, Anna, Matty, Ryan, Carter, and Jayce and several nieces and nephews. 

 Her funeral will be held with a private graveside service on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11 AM in Drums Community Cemetery, 335 W. Butler Drive, Drums. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums is assisting the family with the arrangements.
