Eleanor M. Gundy, 96, of Sugarloaf, passed away early Friday morning, February 25, 2022 at The Laurels Senior Living in Hazleton, following a life well lived.
Born in Hazleton, December 31, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Navickas) Yeselski and resided most of her life there. Recently, she lived with her family in Sugarloaf where she enjoyed time with her great granddaughters and the countryside.
Eleanor was a woman of great style, grace, and incredible resiliency. Her faith and ethics proved to be unstoppable to much of life's adversity. Eleanor loved watching General Hospital, Steelers games and Penn State football. She also enjoyed trips to the casino and socializing with friends at the Elks. Eleanor was deeply devoted to her family. She took great pride in making her moments count with them and by making each holiday magical.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her loving husband Frank J. Gundy, Jr. who passed away September 2, 2013. Their marriage was undoubtedly a true testament to their love and commitment to one another. They were the pillars of their family.
