Edward J. Yanoski, Jr., 84, of Drums, passed away Friday afternoon, February 28, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest in Allentown, following a brief illness.
Born in Hazleton, June 30, 1940, he was the son of the late Edward John and Laura P. (Tepko) Yanoski, Sr. and spent the past 53 years in Drums, after moving from St. Johns.
Edward was a 1958 graduate of Hazleton High School and was a self-employed welder for many years. He attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Beaver Meadows where he was very active in their music ministry. He was a member of the YMPA, Jeddo Stars, and the Mountain Trail Riders where he held office for many years. He was also a member of Sharon and the Nashville Express Band, where he sang and played rhythm guitar. Edward's hobbies included horseback riding, bluegrass and country music, and playing many musical instruments. He was an animal lover of all kinds, especially his horses, who were always fed first.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a sister, Janine Stanavage.
Surviving are his loving wife, the former Sharon C. McCurley, to whom he was married on February 10, 1968 in Audenried; three children, Mark Yanoski and his companion Heather Hannon, Tamaqua; Jeanne Yanoski, Myerstown, and her companion Peggy McCarthy, Drifton; and Sarah Cannella and her husband David, Mt. Top; three grandchildren, Shawn Yanoski, and Vera and Jack Cannella; brother, Richard Yanoski and his wife Cathy, Hazleton; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held with a Memorial Service on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 11 AM in St Paul's Lutheran Church, 19-23 Second Street, Beaver Meadows. Burial will follow in Citizens Cemetery, Beaver Meadows. Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 10 to 11 AM. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 W.
