Edith Marie Witchin, 81, of Hazle Township, passed away Thursday morning, November 28, 2024, at the Pavilion at St. Luke Village in Hazleton.
Born in White Haven, March 13, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Anna (Bond) Getz and spent the past 19 years in Hazle Township after moving from Hazleton.
Edith was a sewing machine operator at many local garment factories and was last employed as a line operator for the former Dial Corporation, Valmont. Edith's greatest joy was spending time with her grandson and daughter. She enjoyed making ceramics, crocheting, watching NCIS, and loved taking care of flowers and houseplants.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by two sisters, Loretta Stephens and Nancy Bartko.
Surviving are her loving and devoted daughter, Anna Marie Dudeck and her husband Randy, Hazleton; a grandson, Aaron Dudeck, Hazleton; a sister, Anna Mae Swankoski, White Haven; a brother, Robert Getz and his wife Marguerite, White Haven; and several nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to thank the nurses, therapists, aides and staff at St. Luke Village Rehabilitation for the exceptional care and kindness that was given to her.
According to Edith's wishes, all services will be private. Harman Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Online condolences can be entered and more information is available at www.harmanfuneral.com.
