Donna Brutosky, formerly Donna Kistulentz, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 4, 2026, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was 68 years old.
Born on May 28, 1957, in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, Donna was the daughter of the late Albert Kistulentz and Maria Oberto. She was a proud graduate of Hazleton High School class of 1976.
Donna married the love of her life, the late Joseph Brutosky, on October 23, 1976. Together they shared nearly 50 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories in Sugarloaf. Their bond was a true example of lifelong devotion.
Donna is survived by her loving daughter, Melissa Moran, and her husband, Shaun, and their children, Jacob and Lillian, whom she absolutely loved and adored and was so proud to be their grandmother. She is also survived by her brother, Albert "Butchie" Kistulentz of Hazleton and his wife Jeanne; her sister, Mary Ellen Wizda of McAdoo; and her sisters-in-law, Jacqueline Podlaski, Denise Sterenchock, and Elizabeth Brutosky. She is further survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will also be deeply missed by her loyal dog, Pugsly. After the passing of her husband, the two were inseparable companions.
Following her graduation from high school, Donna began working at Bucilla, later at Fabri-Kal, and eventually retired from Bradley Caldwell. Her coworkers knew her as a hardworking, dedicated individual who was fun to be around and took pride in doing her job well.
Donna enjoyed spending her time outdoors, especially during the summer months, where she could often be found planting flowers, cutting grass, and taking pride in caring for her home. She also loved visiting casinos and treasured the many trips she took to Las Vegas with her beloved husband-memories she held close to her heart.
Donna was a dedicated member of Saint John Bosco Parish in Sugarloaf. In her younger years, she was active in parish council and youth groups, and in more recent years, she volunteered her time helping with making meatballs and supporting parish events.
Donna will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and deep love for her family. She found her greatest joy in being surrounded by those she loved.
Her funeral will be held Friday, April 10, 2026, at 9:30 AM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Dr, Drums, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Bosco RC Church, 573 State Route 93, Sugarloaf. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart RC Cemetery, Weston. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM. A Christian Wake Service will be held Thursday evening.
