Donald P. Larock, 88, of Black Creek Township, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Born in Sugarloaf, December 11, 1933, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Mary (Mascarella) Larock and spent his entire life in Black Creek Township.
Donald was a retired dairy farmer and was a co-owner along with his brothers George and John of P. Larock Sons' dairy farm in Black Creek Township from the age of 13 until retirement in 1993. He was a 1951 graduate of Black Creek Township High School, and a US Army veteran having served from 1955-1957. He was a member of Black Creek United Methodist Church, Black Creek Township. He was also a member of the Luzerne County and PA Farm Bureaus. He was a past member of the Bunton Bock Old Timers. He enjoyed taking care of his farm, cattle, and tending to his garden.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his wife, the former Dorothy "Dot" McMurtrie, who passed away October 10, 2018; brothers George, Russell, Joseph, Frank, and John Larock; a young brother Anthony; sisters Theresa, Jane, Margaret, and Jean Larock.
Surviving are his children Patricia Kisenwether and her husband David; George Larock and his wife Karen; and Wendy Yurkanin, all of Black Creek Township; three grandchildren Kayla and Dana Kisenwether, and Donald J. Larock; a sister Nancy Gabala, Sugarloaf; and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 am from Black Creek United Methodist Church, 158 Golf Course Road, Sugarloaf. Burial will follow in Black Creek United Methodist Cemetery. Friends may call at Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm and Wednesday morning at the church from 10 am until the time of the service.
