Donald James Brobst, Sr.

Donald James Brobst, Sr., 71, of Drums, passed away Friday, October 11, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hazleton in Hazleton, following a month-long illness.

Born in Kingston, September 6, 1953, he was the son of the late Charles Brobst and Joan (Baur) Skopic and spent the past 41 years in Drums, after moving from Shavertown.

Donald was a 1971 graduate of Lake-Lehman High School.  He was the sole proprietor of Adult Playtime Boutique, Drums for 48 years.  He attended St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. Johns. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and supported the Drums Fire Company.  Donald cherished his family above all else, and enjoyed spending his free time painting, doing housework, watching sports, designing, woodworking, collecting, farming and planting. 

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by brothers Henry and Carl Brobst.

Surviving are his loving wife, the former Jane Hausman, to whom he was married on May 24, 1986 in Drums; three children, Corey Brobst, Towanda; Donald J. Brobst, Jr., Drums; and Zane Brobst, Drums; and a half-sister Joan Hunter, Philadelphia.

His funeral will be held with a Memorial Service on Wednesday evening, October 16, 2024, at 7 PM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 6PM until the time of the service.  Interment will take place privately.
