Dolores Kaszmetskie, 82, of Hazleton, passed away Wednesday evening, January 20, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hazleton following a brief illness.
Born in Hazleton, April 5, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Marjorie (Foose) Van Blargan and spent the past two years in Saint Luke’s Pavilion after moving from Sugarloaf.
Dolores was a Machine Operator for the garment industry. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Rock Glen and the ILGWU.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her loving husband Edward Kaszmetskie Sr., two children, Robin Hillard and David Kaszmetskie, two sisters, Jean Roth and Polly Ann Hethrington, granddaughter, Codie Kaszmetskie, and son-in-law, Allen Gerhard.
Surviving are five children, Dolores Gerhard, AZ; Roxanne Kaszmetskie, NY; Edward Kaszmetskie and his wife Linda, Sugarloaf; Terri Anne Long and her husband Terry, GA; and Kerry Kaszmetskie and his wife Debbie, Mt. Grove; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Paternoster, Hazleton; Bernadine Kobza, Nuremberg; and Suzanne Schmidt and her husband Russell, Mt. Grove; a brother Albert Van Blargan, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held with a Memorial Service on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 11 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen. Burial will follow in Nuremberg Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 am until the time of the service.
