Corinne Dick Obituary

Corinne Fay Dick, aged 79, died on February 18th, 2023. Born on November 26th, 1943, in Dorchester, MA, she was the middle child of John Fay - a tenacious, Irish-American shipbuilder - and Cora Campbell Fay, the daughter of a Canadian farming family. Corinne spent her youth playing on Tenean Beach in front of their family home with her siblings Andrea, Bernadine, Johnny, and Madeline.

She graduated from Boston's prestigious Mt. St Joseph Academy in 1962. She then attended Boston College and worked at the Boston City Hospital during her freshman year. After transferring to Wilkes College in her sophomore year, she met her future husband, Allan R. Dick, Sr. It was also at Wilkes where Allan Sr. and Corinne were members of the singing group "The Accents 4"-- an act that once opened for the Smothers Brothers.

On December 7th, 1964 Corinne and Allan Sr. wed and moved to Conyngham, PA to begin their new life together. She is survived by her two children, Allan, Jr. and Norman, along with their wives, Debra and Tara; two grandsons, Charles and Steve; a step -grandson, Bryan Williams and his wife, Brittany; as well as two step-great grand- children, Olive and Finn.

Corinne's personal and professional life reflected a strong desire to learn and mentor others. Over the course of her working life she was the Owner/President of Alimar School, Sugarloaf; Editor of Voice of the Valley magazine; and was employed for more than twenty years at Keystone Job Corps, as a Residential Advisor and Head of Orientation. She finished her working years helping at the family company, Vintage Tub and Bath. Her love of mentoring also led her to homeschool her two grandchildren.

Corinne loved gardening and walking, and was an avid puzzle builder, cribbage enthusiast, and card player. She was a well-respected member of the Conyngham Bridge Club. She also won many family holiday cribbage tournaments. Corinne's minor superpowers centered around Christmas: making elaborate wreaths, perfecting the art of Christmas tree decoration, and cranking out delicious wafer-thin butter cookies by the hundreds.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 10 AM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., (East), 669 West Butler Drive, Sugarloaf.  Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery, West Hazleton. Friends may also call at the funeral home on Friday, February 24, 2023, from 6 to 8 PM.

While Corinne loved flowers, she preferred them in the ground where nature intended them to be. Instead of sending flowers, her family prefers that you call your mother and tell her how much she means to you. If that is not an option, then make a donation to a charity you find meaningful.
