Charles W. Raup, Sr. passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Friday, March 13, 2026.
Born and raised in Snydertown, PA, he was a son of the late Claude and Dorothy (Penwell) Raup.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and carried that same quiet strength and dedication throughout his life as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Charles was employed for many years by ACF as a welder, until his retirement.
A devoted family man, Charles loved spending time fishing and entertaining his grandchildren, who brought him great joy. He was a wonderful storyteller with a quick wit and a warm sense of humor. Whether sharing stories from years past or cracking jokes, he had a way of making those around him laugh. He was a faithful member of Faith Assembly of God Church in Hazleton, PA.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Cook and Sheila Murn Kahler.
Charles was married to the love of his life, the former Dianna Robins, who will deeply miss him. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Dawn Williams and her husband Ray of Milton, PA; Charles Raup Jr. of Selinsgrove, PA; Wendy Raup and her companion Mike West of Sunbury, PA; Joe Raup and his companion Christina of Lewistown, PA; and Todd Raup of Sunbury PA.
He is also survived by his stepchildren, Beth Shaud and her husband Chris of Drums, PA; Peter Rickert and his wife Aundrea of Hughesville, PA; and Kelli Peterko of Drums, PA, with whom he resided. Charles was the proud grandfather of 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; as well as his caregiver, Veronica Guerrero of Hazleton PA.
Charles will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, his stories, and the deep love he had for his family. His greatest joy in life was simply being surrounded by the people he loved. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories, laughter, and love he shared will live on in the hearts of his family forever.
Special thanks to the compassionate care hospice team, Becky, Cathy and Pastor Dennis, and Judy from Commonwealth home health.
His funeral will be held Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 12 PM in Faith Assembly of God Church, 34 Fox Manor Road, Hazle Township, PA 18202. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of his family. Friends may call at the church on Thursday morning from 11 AM until the time of the service.
