Catherine P. Kowalsky, 91, of Mt. Grove, passed away Sunday morning, December 26, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, following a two-week illness.
Born in Nuremberg, December 13, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Andruzzi) Slovik and spent the past 58 years in Mt. Grove after moving from Fern Glen.
Catherine was a 1948 graduate of Black Creek Township High School and was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of Sacred Heart RC Church, Weston and the Ladies Auxiliary of Beaver Township Fire Company. She loved cooking, canning, playing cards, and polka music.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband Mitchell, who passed away August 3, 2003; a daughter Irene Bader, November 21, 2001; a son-in-law Edward Kennedy; and a sister Mary Dudeck.
Surviving a son Joseph Kowalsky, Mt. Grove; two daughters Rita Kennedy, Ellicott City, MD; and Michele Hutton and her husband Stephen, Wake, VA; a son-in-law George Bader, Phoenixville; five grandchildren Catherine and Edward Kennedy, Christopher and Stephanie Hutton, and Diana Bader; a sister Johanna Eckrote, Rock Glen, many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 9:30 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West) 1265 Rock Glen Road, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Sacred Heart RC Church, Weston. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening 6-8 pm.
