Carmen Anthony Fierro, 83, of Hazle Township, passed away Friday afternoon, December 10, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, Allentown, following a brief illness.
Born in Hazleton, September 7, 1938, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Franzosa) Fierro and spent most of his life in Hazle Township.
Carmen was a US Navy Veteran, having served on active duty aboard the USS Independece from 1958-1960, and an additonal four years as part of the Naval Reserves. He worked as a Paving Contractor and proprietor of Fierro Paving from 1962 until his retirement in 2000. He had also worked as a Milkman for Farmer's Dairy from 1962 until retiring from there in 1988. He was of the Catholic faith, He was an avid collector of HO model trains and was a member of several model train organizations. He enjoyed polka dancing and appeared on several local polka television programs.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his wife the former Dorothy Delbo, who passed away April 10, 2004.
Surviving are two daughters Deena Bereznak and her husband Michael; and Maria Manjone and her husband Thomas, all of Sugarloaf; four grandchildren Nicole and Leanne Bereznak, and Dante and Gianna Manjone; and his companion of the past 17 years Stella Newton, Lehighton.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Visitation, Sunday December 19, 2021 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums. A Wake Service will be held Sunday at 4:00 pm. Interment will be held privately.
