Brandon P. Metzger, 38, of Drums, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep Thursday morning, November 16, 2023, at his residence.
Born in Hazleton, December 1, 1984, he was the son of the late James Metzger and Sandra (Kmetz) Boag and her husband Robert, Drums; and spent the past 13 years in Drums, after moving from Allentown.
Brandon was a 2003 graduate of MMI, Freeland where he had played basketball and baseball and a 2007 graduate of Penn State where he had attended classes at both the Hazleton and Lehigh Valley Campuses. He was employed at All-Phase Electric; Hazle Twp. for 15 years having been promoted to Manager in August. He coached both of his sons in Valley West Little League for the past six years. He was an avid Philadelphia and Penn State sports fan, enjoyed playing golf, and camping with his friends.
Surviving, in addition to his mother and stepfather, are his loving wife, the former Lauren Rutter to whom he was married on April 4, 2015 in Drums, two sons, Chase and Jaxon Metzger, at home; a sister, Jamie Gatts and her husband Justin, Conyngham; sister-in-law, Kristen Wentz and husband Ren, Lehighton; nieces and nephews, Carter, Samantha and Jacob Gatts, and Ayven Wentz, all at home; and mother and father-in-law, Lisa Rutter and her husband Joel, Lehighton.
His funeral will be held with a Memorial Service on Monday evening, November 20, 2023, at 7 PM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5 PM until the time of the service.
